Artist Statement
Plane/Plain is a project that combines the two definitions of these words that sound similar but have different meanings, or homophones.
This project deals with the visual appeal of simple easy to digest landscapes. The interesting formal element relationships of color, texture, shape, form, and light all come together to construct unique spatial bonds that help us to define our surroundings. The different combinations of these formal elements can cause pleasure in some and stress in others. It is these different interpretations of these landscapes that interest me.
